About the Turtle Travel Club
We created this club to bring world travelers together, and to take a little loneliness out of the world.

Travel can be incredibly enriching, but it can also be surprisingly lonely. Even when you love moving slowly and staying longer, it’s hard to find people you genuinely connect with, and even harder to stay connected once you move on.
The Turtle Travel Club exists to solve that problem.
It’s a place for people who love travel, but want more than fleeting conversations or time bound friendships.
Inside the club, members get to know each other over time, reconnect across trips and locations, and build real friendships that don’t disappear when paths diverge.
What matters is having a shared space where familiar faces remain familiar and conversations continue regardless of your physical location.
The Turtle Travel Club is not built around fast-paced travel, packed itineraries, or one-time group experiences. It’s designed for people who prefer to slow down, stay longer, and form connections that don’t disappear when the trip ends.
Many travel communities focus on destinations, deals, or logistics. While those things can be useful, they don’t necessarily lead to lasting connection. The Turtle Travel Club puts people first by creating space for conversations to unfold over time and relationships to grow naturally.
This isn’t a club where you drop in once, make a few acquaintances, and move on. It’s a place where familiar faces stay familiar, whether you’re traveling now, planning your next trip, or taking a break from the road altogether.
There’s no pressure to keep up, travel constantly, or participate in everything. Members engage in the ways that fit their lives, and that flexibility is what allows real friendships to grow.
Most travel friendships fade because they start by chance. You meet someone on a trip, spend a few great days together, then move on. You often have the best intentions to stay in touch, but no shared space to make that easy.
The Turtle Travel Club is designed to prevent that from happening.
Members connect with each other first, inside the club, before meeting in person. They get to know each other through ongoing conversations, shared interests, and familiar faces so when they do meet in real life, the familiarity is already there.
Some members have discovered that they live near each other and made plans to meet for coffee. Others realized they’ll be in the same place at the same time and made plans to connect in some far off destination. Many go on to travel together again, signing up for Leaps with people they already know and trust.
When those trips end, the connection doesn’t. Members return to the same shared community where friendships continue even when they’re not travelling.
This is what turns travel connections into lasting friendships.
The Turtle Travel Club is for people who love travel and value connection, and who want those connections to last beyond a single trip or moment in time.
You don’t have to be traveling non-stop to belong. Some members travel full-time and others part-time. Some are at home planning their next chapter. Some are digital nomads or remote workers. Some are early retirees or traditional retirees. Some are couples. Many are singles.
What they have in common isn’t how often they travel, how far they go, or where they live. It’s a desire to build real friendships, stay connected across time and distance, and be part of a community that doesn’t disappear when the trip ends.
If you enjoy meeting people while you travel and you’d like those connections to grow into lasting friendships, the Turtle Travel Club was created with you in mind.
We created the Turtle Travel Club because we experienced the same challenge many travelers do. We made great connections on the road, only to watch them fade once everyone moved on.
Over the years, through slow travel and living abroad, we’ve met some really cool people. But staying in touch across countries and time zones was harder than it needed to be. We wanted a shared space where friendships could develop, not disappear.
That’s what led us to build the Turtle Travel Club. Not as a tour group or a short-term experience, but as a place where people could get to know each other over time, meet up when paths cross, and stay connected even when they aren’t physically together.
Today, we’re part of the community alongside other members, traveling, planning, and reconnecting online and in real life when our paths cross. Our role is simply to create and care for a space where real friendships can grow and last wherever you happen to be right now.
If this feels like the right fit, you can take a closer look at what membership includes, hear from members about their experience, and get answers to common questions.
