Community Guidelines

Last Updated: 3/2/2026

To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we’ve established these Community Guidelines. By participating in The Turtle Travel Club and/or joining Leaps, Meetups or Events, you agree to abide by these standards, including our Terms & Conditions.

1. Code of Conduct

General Expectations (Applies to Online & In-Person)

We expect all members to:

  • Treat others with kindness, respect, and empathy.
  • Celebrate diversity — including but not limited to race, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, and religion.
  • Respect privacy and confidentiality.
  • Contribute positively: Encourage, uplift, and support one another.
  • Practice patience — especially when navigating cultural differences, travel logistics, or group activities.
  • Communicate openly and kindly, even when offering feedback or expressing concerns.

Acceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are welcomed and encouraged:

  • Greeting new members warmly and making introductions.
  • Offering thoughtful, constructive comments in discussions.
  • Listening attentively when others are speaking, online or in-person.
  • Respecting different lifestyles, choices, cultures, and opinions.
  • Being mindful of how your words, actions, and posts may impact others.
  • Taking ownership and apologizing if you’ve unintentionally hurt someone.
  • Showing up to Leap events on time and with a positive spirit.
  • Encouraging others to participate without pressuring them.
  • Following local customs, etiquette, and laws when traveling.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Discussion of politics, religion, conspiracy theories, or nutrition.
  • Trolling, inflammatory comments, or deliberately disruptive behavior.
  • Harassment of any kind (sexual, verbal, physical, emotional).
  • Name-calling, personal attacks, bullying, or intimidation.
  • Gossiping about other members, both online and in-person.
  • Sharing or posting explicit, suggestive, or nude images.
  • Discriminatory remarks based on race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, political affiliation, religion, or physical/mental abilities.
  • Spamming, solicitation, or self-promotion without permission.
  • Using Direct Chats/messaging to invite members you’ve never met to another community or WhatsApp Group, or promoting any type of product or service. This is grounds for immediate removal from the club.
  • Mic Drops: Ending a conversation with a dismissive “mic drop” comment. We’re here to build supportive, respectful conversations—not drop the mic and walk away.
  • Intoxication, substance abuse, or possession of illegal drugs during Leaps or community events.

2. Additional Leap Policies

When traveling together, additional standards apply:

  • Respect quiet hours at group accommodations or shared spaces.
  • Respect property: Any damage to accommodations, public spaces, or others’ belongings will be your financial responsibility.
  • Maintain appropriate attire in all group settings.
  • Participation is voluntary: You are free to opt-in or opt-out of group activities, but communicate respectfully if plans change.

3. Substance and Drug Abuse Policy

Illegal substances are not permitted in any community space or Leap event. Possession or use may lead to immediate expulsion without refund.

Alcohol is allowed in moderation at social events, but drunkenness, disruptive behavior, or endangering others is grounds for removal.

Prescription medications must be used responsibly and only by the individual prescribed.

4. How to Get Help or Report an Issue

If you witness or experience a violation of these policies:

Online Community or Private Messages:

Send a private message to a moderator or submit a Contact Form with details about the incident.

In-Person (Leaps, Meetups or Events):

Privately approach a designated Leap Host or message us immediately if needed.

All reports will be treated confidentially. We are committed to handling every concern promptly, respectfully, and seriously.

5. Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of these Community Policies will be addressed as follows:

First Offense – Warning:

A private warning with a chance to correct behavior.

Second Offense – Suspension:

Temporary suspension from the online community and/or Leap experience.

Severe or Repeated Offenses – Removal:

  • Immediate removal from the community and/or Leap without refund.
  • Permanent ban from future Leaps and membership.
  • In cases of harassment, assault, or illegal activity, authorities may be contacted.

6. Final Notes

No Refunds: Removal due to policy violations does not entitle you to a refund.

Community is a Privilege: Membership and participation are privileges, not rights.

Policy Updates: We reserve the right to update these policies at any time to better protect our community.

By participating in the Services offered by Amelia And JP and The Turtle Travel Club, you agree to uphold these community standards and contribute to a welcoming, respectful, and positive environment for all.

Thank you for helping us build a global circle of friends who explore slowly and live freely!
