What is included with the free Starter membership?
Starter members receive access to Turtle Discussion and Turtle Daily Hangout. You can post, comment, share your location, and connect with other members through community conversations.
Can I upgrade later?
Absolutely. You can upgrade at any time to a Full Membership and unlock the private messaging, who’s nearby, who’s online now, monthly Zoom calls, early access to Leaps, exclusive access to cruises, and the full Club experience.
Does the Starter membership expire?
No, the Starter membership doesn’t expire (it’s not a free trial). As long you follow our Community Guidelines, you’ll have permanent access to the features included with the plan, so you can continue to participate in the community and meet other members as you travel around the world.
What is the difference between Starter and a Full Membership?
The Starter membership is designed to help you experience the community and begin making connections. Full Members can browse the complete Member Directory, send private messages, join all community spaces, participate in member events, and receive access to additional Club benefits.
Why isn’t Turtle Travel Club completely free?
The Starter membership is free because we want everyone to have a chance to experience the community and make new friends.
Full Memberships help support everything that makes Turtle Travel Club possible, from community moderation and member events to the technology that powers the Club.
More importantly, paid memberships allow us to continue building a welcoming place where world travelers can form real friendships without the distractions of ads, algorithms, or endless unrelated posts.
Is this a Facebook Group, Discord Server or Patreon?
No. The Turtle Travel Club is a private community hosted on Mighty Networks, with its own dedicated website and mobile app. You do not need a Facebook, Discord, or Patreon account to join.
What makes the Turtle Travel Club different from free social-media groups?
The Turtle Travel Club is built specifically for world travelers who want genuine connection, thoughtful conversation, and friendships that grow over time.
Unlike social-media groups on Facebook or Reddit, our community is moderated to keep conversations fun, positive and supportive. Trolls are not allowed.
The club experience is also customized specifically for world travelers with topic-specific spaces, club events, travel badges, and more. It’s a destination that you’ll want to visit every day, free from the distractions inherent on public social feeds.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Monthly and Yearly memberships may be canceled at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals, and you’ll continue to have full access through the end of your current billing period.
Payments already processed are nonrefundable. This prevents spammers and trolls from signing up to harass our members, and then requesting a refund.
If you’re unsure, you can check out the club with the free Starter Membership (no risk) or the Monthly Membership (minimal risk).
