Mini-Leap to Medellín
Explore the city with your fellow Turtles.
Bring Your Own Lodging (BYOL)
Medellín is one of South America’s most vibrant and livable cities, and we’re excited to experience it together on this one-week Mini-Leap.
We’ll spend an unforgettable week getting to know the City of Eternal Spring, wandering through leafy neighborhoods like Laureles and El Poblado, riding the famous Metrocable for panoramic views, exploring colorful Comuna 13, and discovering the cafés, parks, and local culture that make Medellín such a favorite among travelers and expats.
Medellín is one of our favorite cities, but the destination is only part of the equation. The real magic happens through the friendships, conversations, shared meals, and spontaneous adventures that develop when a group of like-minded Turtles spends a week exploring together.
Because accommodations are not included, you’re free to stay wherever best fits your travel style and budget. We’ll recommend a neighborhood once you sign-up so we can all stay in the same area, making it easy to join the group each day while giving you complete flexibility.
Whether you’re considering Colombia as a future home, looking for a new slow travel destination, or simply want to spend a week with a wonderful group of Turtles, Medellín is a Mini-Leap you won’t want to miss.

Medellín is an excellent city for a one-week Mini-Leap. Its pleasant climate, modern infrastructure, walkable neighborhoods, and wide variety of restaurants and cafés make it easy to settle in and start exploring right away.
Our Mini-Leap takes place in early December, when Medellín is transitioning into its drier season. Expect comfortable temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s°F (26–28°C), with a mix of sunshine and the occasional afternoon shower, which is pretty typical for the City of Eternal Spring. The comfortable weather makes it easy to spend long days exploring the city, enjoying outdoor cafés, and taking advantage of Medellín’s parks, plazas, and overlooks.
Although we’ll only be together for a week, there’s plenty to see both in the city and nearby. Medellín has a great mix of urban attractions, local culture, and easy day trips, making it an ideal destination for travelers who want to experience more than just the typical tourist highlights.
Why Medellín is a good fit for a Mini-Leap:
Amelia will organize a different activity for us each day. Some costs are included (see below) and some are pay-as-you-go.
Since Mini-Leaps don’t include lodging, we’ll designate a meeting time and place to start each day. The details will be in the Events calendar inside the Leap space.
Here are the meals and activities included with the Leap fee (subject to change based on weather and local factors):
You’re also encouraged to arrive in Medellín early and/or stay longer after the Leap ends. You’ll have access to the Leap space in the community so you can meet up with other members who also arrive early or stay late.
